Translation of Regulation (EU) 2024/1684, known as the AI Act, into Serbian.

What is the AI Act?

The AI Act (EU Regulation 2024/1684) is the first comprehensive legal regulation on artificial intelligence at the level of the European Union.
It is a law that introduces obligations, prohibitions and standards for the development, implementation and supervision of AI systems — depending on how much risk they pose to people and society.

The law has an extraterritorial effect, which means that it also applies to companies outside the EU that develop or market AI systems on the European market.

This, directly or indirectly, also applies to actors in Serbia.

Why translation?

So that the understanding is precise and not superficial.
So that domestic actors could clearly compare the European framework with the future domestic law.
And for the professional community to have a tool that enables learning, analysis and preparation — without relying on fragments or imprecise interpretations.

The translation is a working tool, not an official version. Sentence structure is preserved, and the original and the translation stand side by side — for accuracy, context, and verifiability.
